Finca El Cisne Day 2

It rained all night. And all day. We went out on the horses again, were shown the processes for changing the fruit of the coffee plant and cacao tree into coffee and chocolate, were fed amazing food and we drank real hot chocolate. But the highlight of the day was coming across Carlos’s father and his friends having a party when out riding.

They had been fishing and were now sitting round a long table under a palm thatched shelter beside the lake, listening to Mexican music and enjoying their catch. We were invited to join them so we tucked into fresh char grilled tilapia with lime and salt, chillies, home produced cheese and tortillas washed down with our first beer in three months. Magnificent!

Sean blending in with the locals rather better than me!

  1. Loving the instalments! Looks like you are having the most amazing time. Am reading updates on the bus into work. Its nice to be transported away for a few minutes! Take care, Ali
